So, I've been watching a lot of TV lately, especially Dexter & True Blood, and I got to thinking about when we first moved down to SC and originally got Direct TV I loved being able to DVR all my favorite shows (can't do that now that I'm living with mom again) So I wind up having to borrow the season's from friends when I miss a show. But the ex-hubby and I enjoyed Direct TV so much that when we moved to our own place we decided to get it. They were a lot quicker, better priced and reliable than the local cable companies down there. In the process of getting back on Etsy, right now i have some jeans simmering with bleach (not literally simmering, just felt like saying that, ha) I'm hoping they turn out good, its a method I have not tried before...

Mad Men Fashion

So Mad Men is inspiring fashion designers. Which I find to be just awesome, as I do tend to have a bit of a fetish towards retro styled clothing, accessories and house type stuff. Esp. from the 40's-60's.

I love the adorable shoes, and the ultra feminine look for the women, and the classy, glossed look that the men had back then.

I hope that this style picks up and carries itself a long for a bit.

So I've recently came across the website 6dollarshirts.com and it is basically just your average geek tees. But they have a grab bag kinda deal where you can get a shirt for $2.95 but you have no idea what it is. Now once you order 21 shirts you get $10 off. So guess what my next adventure is? Yup you guessed it. Ordering 21 ladies XL shirts from 6dollarshirts.com and having no idea what a single one is going to be. I figure the ones I don't like I will save for when I get my own place and can start crafting things for good ol Etsy.com again. So once I get my 21 shirts, I'll blog again w/pics and such. LOL.

And I came across many sites talking about different Condom Fashion Shows, many done to raise awareness of STDs etc. Which is a great cause, and honestly some of the designs made out of condoms you would never guess from looking at them. Vogue Cover Girl

There is a lot of buzz surrounding Michelle Obama being Vogue's March 2009 cover girl. She is to be the 2nd First Lady to be on Vogue's cover. Personally I can't think of a better choice, she looks stunning in nearly anything she wears as shown in this pic from Mary's Center.

Michelle's look is one that is fashionable yet classic and I'm sure it is one that women will be trying to emulate the world over for years to come.

Casual Friday

So today at the office, a lot of the gals were wearing jeans which made me decide to do my blog on blue jeans today. I have a love hate relationship with jeans. I hate when they don't fit and leave me feeling uncomfortable and self-conscious. But when I find a pair that makes my butt look divine and feels great too I am in heaven.

So I was googling jeans and found this site: zafu.com that had this awesome quiz about how your jeans fit (the link takes you to the plus size quiz & stuff) And the one's recommended for me are to the left. (I really like them and want a pair stat!) So go take the quiz and see what jeans they find for you!

Ever since I signed on with Etsy, I saw these men's tie dresses and just fell in love. They make the dresses when they are ordered in the size and color scheme you want, every single one is unique. And honestly I think a curvy chick would rock the shit out of one of these M*F*er's.

Seriously, I pine for a place to wear one of these (and the money to buy one) If you have bought one, and have pics of you sportin it, PLEASE share! (I will live vicariously through you!!!)

Customizing your look is what fashion is all about in my opinion. Who wants to go with that same glazed Barbie doll look? I want to be the gal that stands out from the crowd (in a GOOD way, not a OMFG what the hell was she THINKING?!? way.)

My Fashion My Way

Okay, so this isn't going to be about high society fashion, or popular fashion in general. It is going to be about what I like, as a curvy gal, and what I think is more flattering and enjoyable by curvier women in general. I plan on being completely open, honest, and frank on this blog. This is going to be about more than just clothes. Trust me. Tho there will be blogs on just what tops I find cute, and who is having great sales on adorable clothes. There may even be blogs on stuff I made, as I love creating accessories and restructuring clothing into something new. Also whenever there is a topic that you think I should explore on here, shout it out, and I will visit that topic with an open mind, then lay into it with my opinionated self. LOL.
